Christian

Amid this scene in perfect green
Young men of bygone days
Lie in tombs to testify
Peace is the only way

And somewhere upon another shore
With quiet calming seas
Far away from pit and tomb
No death, guns, nor disease

And from that splendid honored place
Young men's names are called
And with our saddened memories
We ne'er forget their fall

Of death and war upon the pit
Amidst all battle cries
Are angels pointing upward
Where every young man lies

Brothers killed with guns and arms
Machines which sealed their fate
But worse still yet is mankind's tongue
With all its power to hate

'twas from this tongue of hate and jibe
That armed those bombs and tanks
Give Love today in all you say
And for their words give thanks

And if a shadow of this place
Comes rolling by your mind
It serves as a reminder
To give and Love sublime
