Upon the storms of human seas

Christian

Upon the storms of human seas
Amidst the winds and rain
There comes a gentle stirring quiet
To ease the lonely pain

Some might say it’s Jesus’ voice
And others call it God
How grateful are those peaceful times
When I meet my Lord

And in those times of silent grief
Where no one understands
I sit alone with creaking bones
And rest upon His Arms

Searching o’er the hills some days
A friendly face to find
Yet strangely when alone and still
I seek and Him I find

And in the night when darkness comes
With tears of years gone by
He comes and sits with staff in hand
Til morning glides the sky
