Upon the angry seas

Christian

Upon the angry sea of life
Where thoughts of sadness stay
There comes a stranger from the shore, who walks upon the waves
With hands and feet both pierced with nails, declaring "sea be calm"
I reach my hand from sinking boat and quickly take his arm
No more the fears of passing years or thoughts all aimed to harm
Suddenly my mind is still
No fear, no pain alarms
Just like Lot's wife, thoughts do come, to glance back what was left
An empy boat, a sinking ship, colourless, bereft.
