The Seven Sorrows of Mary

The Seven Sorrows of Mary

"A sword will pierce your own soul"
A Mother's weeping woe
Her Son does walk unto the cross
She watches as He goes

They quickly flee to Egypt
To save Her Son from death
a sign for all the migrants
And those who are oppressed

A frantic Mother searches
A Child lost from Her arms
Found preaching in the Temple
Safe and far from harm

Via Dolorosa, a path of Truth and Love
Through suffering all can see Him
And Angels from above

Then comes the darkened hour
When all is dark and grim.
A Mother wrenches for Her Son
A look of Love for Him.

As they take His body
Soldiers with remorse
With Hope of faithful promise
She looks upon His corpse

And moving him to Joseph's grave
She looks upon the tomb
Where lies the body of Her Son
Which lay inside her womb
